Personal Work Desk

I needed a desk in my room, and thought of building one. The project took close to 35 hours to complete. I came up with a design which would provide basic storage for books and stationary, and allow me to stash away the wires in a shelf at the back. Since I had used cheap wood (lesson learned!), the finished project didn't look great. So I decided to paint it in red, white. and blue. I am very happy with the results. The table stands at approximately 33" (hairpin legs : 28"). That is a non-standard height for desks, so next in line is a chair that will go with the table. Below are some images of the process.

Gluing the side walls to the table's base Next gluing the top of the table Preparing the back shelf that would be storage for wires and connectors Table top is ready at this point but needs sanding Photo of me opening the back shelf. It opens approximately 35 degrees Staining the table Applying painter's tape before starting the painting Filling out the sections in different colors, starting with white Next painting with red color Finally, wrapping it up with royal blue color Table is complete!
